Gethsemane Music Ministry

Highlighting All the Vibrant Ministries at GMBC

Objective: Following the leadership and vision of the pastor, the purpose of the Music Ministry is to integrate into church services the gospel of Jesus Christ through music, song and dance, to lead and inspire the congregation in worship while providing an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an integral part of the worship.

Prospective: Each year the music ministry strives to grow in its ability to perform music of different genres and skill levels. We also focus on providing not only spiritual support to the church but financial support as well. Each

Service: The Music Ministry at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church is composed of four choirs and the mime team-Chosen Generation.

GMBC Choir

The Mime Team, “Chosen Generation creates their own choreography for the enhancement of the worship service as well as special events. Currently Chosen Generation consists of young ladies and young of all ages.

The GMBC Praise and Worship Team: leads Praise and Worship during morning devotion each Sunday. They also travel with the pastor upon request.

The Gospel Choir: Composed of men and women ages 18 and over. This choir sings traditional and contemporary gospel music and presents music for the third Sunday worship services.

The Youth/Children's Choir: Composed of youth and children of various ages. This choir sings mostly contemporary gospel music and some traditional gospel selections. The Youth Choir sings on the second Sunday of each month.

The Men's Choir: Composed of men over the age of 18. This choir sings mostly quartet and traditional gospel music.

The Mass Choir: The Mass Choir includes members of all choirs and sing on the fifth Sundays and special occasions.
The Mass Choir includes members of all choirs and sing on the first, and fifth Sundays and special occasions. The Music for GMBC’s Music Ministry’s is provided by musicians: Thelma Cuthbertson, Minister of Music, Robert Winecoff, Lead Guitarist; Jeffery Miller, Bass Guitarist; Clifford Roseboro, Percussion; and Director Milton Griffith.
